At the center, a translucent Selene sits with one hand touching the water and the other raised like a conductor’s baton; her opalescent skin and hair threaded with light make her read as water made flesh. The sea ripples and surges outward from her touch, with impasto waves and glowing crests that connect her directly to the ocean.
Selene gently coaxes the ocean’s rhythms, portraying her as a tender, sovereign force binding sky and sea. Ribbons of light with silver droplets arc from her fingers, reflecting and merging her form with the oceans tide.
“AUGURY” SERIES STATEMENT
This series weaves together themes of mythology, science fiction, esoterica and symbolism into old master inspired fantasy dreamscapes.
They hint at something ancient and modern, in a universe where nature integrates with technology, magic and anthropomorphic forms, creating modern allegories to be deciphered.
I hope to invoke through these works, certain concepts and ideas that provoke discussion among the viewer, including the symbolic representation of the human inter connectedness with nature, technology and spirituality.
