The Wave | Oil on canvas | Summer 2019
“The Wave” is a large scale painting that bought together many of the techniques that I’ve been working towards over the last 5 years or so. Embracing the fluidity of oil paint with the method of creating a rhythm with the brushstrokes themselves,
I thought it would be a good subject for my style. The sky recedes into a flatter relief while the texture of the paint builds to create the wave itself.
