Early works of 2022
Early on in 2022 and I'm still working on more abstracted landscapes for the "World Beyond" series...
I think there are some key works of mine in here, so quite happy with the results of this period.
One of my favourites is "Towards Atlantis", which was laboured over while the Russian invasion of Ukraine was taking place. This particular piece has many, many layers of paint and I think reflected my need to escape into the work, while the chaos of the world was all around.

While the conflict was settling somewhat and with the approaching Spring here in the UK, I painted "Radiance", a light filled hopeful work which literally appeared out of nowhere. I almost went into an automatic mode with this one and was very pleased with the result...
It's strange how events in the outer world, can affect the art you produce. Of course almost all painting is emotional to a certain extent, but I find that certain artistic breakthroughs can happen at the time of greatest stress.
