Paul began his journey into the realm of digital art in the 1990’s while working on designs for his musical projects. As a musician, melodies, rhythms and harmonies were his first tools of expression. The transition from sound to imagery focused on visualising the ethereal qualities of nature while being fascinated by art that symbolized organic processes. Highlighting the “magic” of rhythms gave birth to a collection of abstracts.
Initially by constraining and redefining nature, using simple geometries, Paul noticed the emergence of figures reminiscent of paganism. “I was working late one night on my first edition iMac, when I made a mirror image of a cornfield. I was amazed to see a little figure standing at the point of symmetry, staring back at me complete with horns!”

Inspired by artists from the Italian Renaissance Paul produced a series of mythological and esoteric works - Gods, Goddesses, Apocalypse and Revelation, Creation and Destruction.
“I was interested in combining my techniques to see if I could create narratives within the images, mixing animals with humans, distorted landscapes with abstract imagery to create new hybrids of eternal myths.”

He has held many exhibitions both solo and group shows, displaying digital stills as prints and canvasses, and experimented with digital video editing, creating audio visual projections for use with underground and alternative theatre productions.
“The aim of my work is to go past representing reality but to enter it using nature’s own language and expression, highlighting the fluidity and interrelatedness that exists on a biological and spiritual level. I work with the language of dreams and hope to make the ethereal, visible. My personal philosophy is based on the duality of life, on the simple fact that day follows night, the Sun and the Moon, the ebb and the flow of the universal tides.”
